How to make the move to renewable heating succeed? What will the provision of heating supplies look like in future? These are the questions the second HEATEXPO from 26 to 28 November 2024 at Messe Dortmund is set to address.
Dortmund, 26 September 2024 – HEATEXPO will once again present a wide variety of exhibitors and innovative solutions in the field of decentralised heating supplies. The leading trade show will offer policy-makers, businesspeople, scientists and academics a forum for sharing ideas and networking. A good two months before the show opens its doors, HEATEXPO has already signed up 40% more exhibitors than last year – a clear indication of the show's growing relevance.
“The success of the inaugural show is reflected in the high number of bookings and the increase in exhibitor numbers. The positive feedback encourages us to expand HEATEXPO 2024 even further and establish it as a permanent fixture in the trade show calendar,” said Tim Knittel, HEATEXPO Project Manager.
Wide range of exhibitors – from energy suppliers to plant manufacturers
As last year, leading businesses in the heating sector such as Erdgas Südwest, GP Joule, OVE and Rheinenergie will be back again exhibiting at HEATEXPO 2024. They will be joined by plant manufacturers such as Aalborg CSP A/S and Alois Müller, who will be demonstrating their expertise in the integration of large heat pumps, and companies such as SPH Sustainable Process Heat in the industrial heat pump segment. HoSt Participaties and 2G Energy will present their solutions using CHP technologies and cogeneration.
Extended supporting programme compete with Local Government Campus
Municipal heat planning is a major focal point this year because when it comes to ensuring a future-proof, reliable and affordable heating supplies, local authorities have a key part to play. They are responsible for planning strategically which areas are going to be supplied with heat and how renewable energies and waste heat – given off by industrial plants and data centres, for example – can be used effectively in generation and distribution. The new Local Government Campus will provide a common forum for the players involved. Partners such as the German Urban Municipalities' Convention, the German Local Government Confederation, the German Association of Non-Metropolitan Districts, the Association for the Economical Use of Energy and Water (ASEW) and NRW.Energy4Climate will share valuable practical experience.
Established main stage to put key players around one table
From the first day of the show, the main stage will once again bring together policy-makers and representatives of associations and businesses. Highlights will include the German Housing Industry Association entering into dialogue for the first time on the role of the housing industry in the green heating transition. Day 2 of the show will focus on the use of district heating complete with innovative solutions for decarbonisation and transformation. Day 3 is dedicated to the question of widespread utilisation of waste heat. In this context, the Initiative for Energy Efficiency and Climate Protection Networks (IZES) will present its pilot project AwaNetz which has been developed as an incubator for further waste heat projects in collaboration with the Municipal Enterprises Association (VKU).
Side events and specialist forums – focus on geothermal energy and climate protection
The programme line-up will be complemented by two additional events. The NRW Geothermal Energy Roadmap, organised by the German Geothermal Energy Association, will highlight the potential of geothermal energy in the German state of North Rhine Westphalia. The KLIMA.FORUM UNTERWEGS initiative launched by KlimaDiskurs.NRW is focusing on the transformation of municipal heating supplies and the future roles of electricity, hydrogen and the use of existing gas supply grids.
